4 Indian Warships on their way to help Mozambique

Last month African nations Mozambique, Madagascar, Malawi, and Zimbabwe faced one of the worst tropical cyclones. Intense tropical cyclone Idai dissipated in March taking the lives of over a thousand people. Different nations including India has been helping cyclone hit people. India has already rescued 200 people and over 2,000 people have been given medical at the camps set up by Indian Navy. Mozambique was hit by the cyclone Idai on 14th March; India despatched 4 warships to help the victims in Mozambique. INS Sujata, INS Shradul and Sarathi have been diverted towards the port of Beira by the Indian government on request of the Mozambique government. The fourth warship INS Magar will reach Beira port by 11th April. The warships have 500-kg epidemic-related medicines, 400-tonnes of rice, ready-to-eat meals clothing, temporary shelters, and other necessary equipment. The Indian helicopter crew has also participated in the aid by dropping foods and relief materials. India is the first nation to respond to the devastated nation’s aid.
