Authentic Paltan!

J.P. Dutta’s next project is a war drama like his previous movies, Border and LOC Kargil. Dutta is very particular about the portrayal of the army in his movies. ‘Paltan’ is based on the real incident that took place during the 1967 military clash at the Nathula Pass.

Most of the scenes in this movie require the actors to be in uniforms and for that Dutta has sourced the real uniforms worn by the soldiers that time from the Ministry of Defence. The Ministry of Defence handed over one of the preserved uniform to the filmmakers before the shoot began. After getting the uniform they started making the costumes based on that real uniform with the actors’ measurements as Dutta wanted the characters to look real and authentic, according to sources.

The movie is set to release on 7th September.
