Bollywood Congratulates Big B on Dadasaheb Phalke Honor

Bollywood Film Industry have produced many gems over the years, with the sheer collaboration of people from different parts of film making to contribute to a plethora of movie genres. While actors were held in a pedestal and worshipped by their fans, names like Dev Anand, Raj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar, and later Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan became the stalwarts and the very face that the masses were keen on admiring.

Amitabh Bachchan have been the face of Bollywood cinema for over 50 years since his debut in ‘Saat Hindustan’ (1969), taking up many different roles to play and thoroughly entertaining audiences in the process. It was only fitting, when Union Minister for Broadcasting and Information Prakash Javadekar on Tuesday announced on his Twitter handle about the anonymous selection of Amitabh Bachchan for the Dadasaheb Phalke award for his contribution to the Indian Cinema.

Big B’s contributions to the Indian Cinema is undeniable; be it the Angry-Young Man in ‘Deewar’, ‘Agneepath’, or an undaunted friend to Viru (Dharmendra) in ‘Sholey’, or as a doctor transitioning from being affected by grief of his patient’s loss in ‘Anand’. Even in the modern times, while the commercial Bollywood space is solely concentrating on business through romantic-comedies or action storyline, he somehow manages to take up movies like, ‘Cheeni Kam’, ‘Black’, ‘Paa’, ‘Piku’ and ‘Pink’.

The Indian Film Industry came together in support and congratulating Amitabh Bachchan for being an idol and a man of inspiration in a nation of billions. The social media went into a frenzy after the news surfaced on Tuesday, while Big B shared his thoughts with gratitude with the fans that stayed on the journey.
