British Foreign Secretary to discuss Rohingya crisis

Foreign Secretary of United Kingdom Jeremy Hunt visited Myanmar on Wednesday, September 19 on his first official visit to the country for discussing the Rohingya refugee crisis and jailing of two reporters of Reuters. After arriving in Burma, Hunt twitted Arrived in Burma for talks with leaders and to see humanitarian issues first-hand. Hunt is scheduled to meet Myanmar’s leader and Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi along with the officials of the Army to discuss in details about the refugee crisis. This visit takes place after the United Nations fact-finding mission on human rights violations submitted its complete report on the issue. Almost 10,000 people died and 800,000 sought refuge in neighboring Bangladesh after the Myanmar Army launched an aggressive operation in August 2017. Hunt had previously highly criticised the refugee crisis and had said, Deeply disturbing to read UN report on crimes against Rohingya people. There must never be a hiding place for those who commit these kinds of atrocities. Have decided to visit Burma to seek answers at the earliest opportunity.
