Charging Stops For E-Vehicles

On Friday the government issued a set of guidelines to set up charging stations in every state and union territory. The charging stations should be set up every 25 km for electric vehicles. And for the heavy vehicles like buses and trucks, they should be at every 100 km. The installation will take place in different phases. In the first phase, the megacities will be covered and it will be within 2021.

The second will cover the capitals and union territories and will be completed within 2023. The government, in order to reduce pollution, is emphasizing on these guidelines. By 2030 the government wants to accomplish complete electric mobility. The amendment to Model Building Byelaws, 2016 and Urban Regional and Urban Regional Development Plans Formulation and Implementation Guidelines 2014 to set up charging stations for electric vehicles in the country has been approved by the government.
