CORAS to get its own training facility

Indian Railway’s commando unit CORAS is all set to have its own state-of-the-art training facility in Jagadhri city of Haryana. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal after launching this commando unit of Indian Railways said, "Keeping in mind the threat from disruptive forces, induction of CORAS was planned in the Railway Protection Force. CORAS team will be provided best, most modern equipment and world class training. A new state-of-the-art commando training center for RPF will be started in Jagadhri, Haryana which will have access to the latest technology and equipment". This new training facility will be set up to provide the CORAS commandos with training of international standards. The CORAS will comprise of RPF and Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF) personnel and will be headed by the DG of RPF. The CORAS commandos will have special bulletproof uniforms and will be equipped with helmets and sophisticated weapons. Trained in the NSG academy and Greyhounds, these fine commandos will secure railway property and passengers, and neutralize threats. CORAS’s first deployment will be in Naxal-hit areas of Chhattisgarh.
