Croatians To Abide Traffic Signals Via Smartphones

Invention of vehicles have in one way saved a lot of time and travelling from one place to another an easy task. On the other hand, in spite of having suitable traffic rules there have a number of accidents occurring here and there all over the world. One of the foremost reason for the increase in road accidents resulting in death has been stated to be the use of mobile phones while crossing.

In order to prevent such accidents on road, Croatia came up with the perfect plot by designing a new traffic light for the ones engrossed in their mobile screen while crossing. Croatian capital Zagreb became the first to be have traffic lights that sheds light on the sidewalk to warn pedestrians, near the Croatian National Theatre, as part of the ‘Day without Mobile Phones Campaign’.

The light working as a warning for the pedestrians, as the lights are projected towards the sidewalk the same will be projected on the screens of the mobile phones the pedestrians are using, forcing them to look upwards when red light turns on. The new traffic lights in Zagreb are something the people are not familiar with, and this will help the authority to understand whether people are appreciating the initiative or not and what effect it will have on civilian road safety.
