Cyclone Titli to hit Odisha

A depression which had formed over the west-central Bay of Bengal has turned into a deep depression and would soon be turned into a cyclonic storm. This cyclonic storm, named ‘Titli’ is expected to hit Odisha and Andhra Coast soon by October 11. HR Biswas, Director of Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre reported, It is very likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm during next 24 hours and is expected to move west-north-westwards for some more time and then north-westwards and cross the coast between Gopalpur of Odisha and Kalingapatnam of adjoining north Andhra Pradesh around the morning of October 11. Titli is expected to trigger heavy rainfall and stormy winds after it hits Odisha.  Bishnupada,Sethi, Special relief commissioner said that necessary arrangements to shift people of low lying areas in case of heavy rainfall is already taken and that the fishermen along the Andhra and Odisha coast have been advised not to go on fishing trips into the sea. Emergency operation centers and control rooms are set up which are working around the clock to deal with emergency situations.
