Deity Dinosaurs Discovered

Scientists are never at rest, they are always discovering or inventing something new, something that will make the people agape. Recently, the scientists in Japan’s Hokkaido University identified a new species of dinosaurs and they named it 'Kamuysaurus japonicus'; 'Kamuy' is an Ainu word which is the language of indigenous people of northern Japan and it means deity; the word 'Saurus' means reptile in Latin and 'japanicus' for Japan. In 2013 the scientists discovered a partial tail in northern Japan. Gradually they discovered the complete skeleton and it was the largest ever discovered in Japan. It measured 26 feet (8 meters) long. According to reports, the dinosaur was 9-years old which is considered to be an adult. The dinosaur weighed around 4 or 5.3 tonnes, which depends on whether it walked on two or four legs. The scientists wrote about their discovery in the British peer-reviewed journal “Scientific Reports”. According to the studies, Kamuysaraus may have lived in the coastal areas, which is considered to be a rare habitat for the dinosaurs during that time, also the fossils gave some important insights into their surroundings and environments. The research team leader Yoshitsugu Kobayashi says,

The fact a new dinosaur was discovered in Japan means there was once an independent world of dinosaurs in Japan or in East Asia and an independent evolution process.

After analyzing the bones, they revealed that it dated back to 72 million years, and it belonged to a new species of herbivorous beast known as Hadrosaurid dinosaur. These species lived on this planet in the late Cretaceous period.
