Earthquake hits the Nicobar Islands Again

On Thursday an earthquake of magnitude 4.8 hit the Nicobar Islands at 5.30 Am in the morning. The epicenter of the earthquake was at the region of Nicobar Islands only. According to the reports of the meteorological department of India, the depth of this tremor was 94 kilometers.

There has been no news of any property damage or life loss yet. The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are seismologically prone areas. There have been a series of earthquakes over the years. This year in January also an earthquake of magnitude 6 struck the Nicobar Islands. The weather conditions have also taken some unusual turns like the hailstorm in Delhi.
