Government Job Frenzy IITian becomes Trackman

There was a time, when Government Jobs were a dream for every Indian. However, now the scenario has changed a bit, with students hailing from different fields along with sufficient degrees, often fails to acquire jobs in private companies, let alone be confident about applying for a Government job. With limited jobs awaiting at the other side of a valuable degree, recently, an IITian joined group “D” job in the Indian Railways in Dhanbad following suit with the craze for Government jobs.

Shrawan Kumar, hailing a B.Tech and M.Tech degree from IIT Mumbai, joined as a trackman for the Dhanbad railway. His decision to join the job, came as a shock to his fellow mates as well as his colleagues, who could not make out for the fact, that why a person with such qualification would apply for a Group ‘D’ post in the first place.

He is reportedly posted at Chandrapura under Public Works Inspector (PWI), Telo where he is given the responsibility to look after the tracks between Chandrapura and Telo section. Residing in Bihar, Kumar joined IIT- Bombay in 2010, and passed out from the institute in 2015 obtaining a degree in integrated dual degree course. He dreams of becoming an officer in the government sector, and is confident about achieving his dreams while his friends have already acquired jobs in other private sectors, which he refused to take up for his future.
