It’s not even the middle of January and we think we have already our ‘selfie’ of the year or rather ‘group-fie’ of the year!
On Thursday, filmmaker Karan Johar shared a selfie with the Prime Minister of India, along with a group of young guns of Bollywood. The selfie features, the PM, Karan Johar, Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, Ayushmann Khurrana, Bhumi Pednekar, Ekta Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, and others.
The meeting was arranged by Karan Johar and film producer and presenter Mahaveer Jain as a ‘courtesy meeting’, where they discussed how the film industry helps in nation building. The fraternity also thanked the PM for cutting down GST on movie tickets. The above-mentioned celebrities were among the delegates of this meeting.
Last year in December also one such meeting was organized which was attended by Karan Johar, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Siddharth Roy Kapoor, Ritesh Sidhwani and CBFC chief Prasoon Joshi. That meeting was badly criticized for not involving any female delegates. This time, fortunately, they rectified that mistake.
Thank u Hon’ble PM @narendramodi. All of us who had the incredible opportunity to interact with u today represent the world’s largest film industry & together we would love to inspire & ignite positive changes towards a transformative India. pic.twitter.com/7h99wifTph— Karan Johar (@karanjohar) January 10, 2019
