In memory of Mexican refugees

The Day of the Dead Parade is a relatively new tradition in Mexico City. The Day of the Dead Parade was held in the dawn of Saturday before the actual day of the dead. The parade is known locally as "Desfile del Día de Muertos," or parade of the Day of the Dead.

The first Day of the Dead parade in Mexico City took place in 2016. The parade is a riot of wildly colorful and exuberant costumes,this holiday has spread throughout the world, being absorbed into other deep traditions in honor of dead people.

This year’s event is in memory of Mexican refugees who died as they attempted to travel to the US. This year more than 1000 volunteers helped make the parade happen, it took over 10 months of preparation.The city estimated that around 1-2 million people would come to watch the parade! This was the first year the parade was nationally televised.
