India Welcomes Jinping’s Economic Interventions

In an informal meet, Chinese President Xi Jinping asked Prime Minister Modi if the two countries could work together on a few projects, especially on the one in Afghanistan. Reportedly, Modi agreed to his proposal.

Later, on the sidelines of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in the coastal city Qingdao, Vijay Gokhale, the foreign secretary announced that the Chinese had accepted the Indian PM’s offer to hold a “similar informal summit in India in 2019”.

India is also planning to discuss the Indo Pacific policy with China very soon. The Indian Government plans to go the extra mile and the Indian diplomats need to recognise the general feelings shared between the Indians and the Chinese. Moreover, there will be protectionist measures implemented to safeguard trading interests “The great cooperation between our two great countries can influence the world,” said Jinping.

Modi stated, “I firmly believe that Asia and the world will have a better future, when India and China work together in trust and confidence, sensitive to each other’s interests.”
