Indian Army conducts NAG missile trials

The Indian Army has recently conducted trials of the anti-tank guided missile NAG at Pokhran. The trails of the third generation NAG missiles turned out to be successful, making way for its introduction into the army. These anti-tank NAG missiles have the ability to penetrate enemy tanks in all weather conditions. The NAG missiles are eligible for usage, both during the day and night and has a minimum range of 500 meters and maximum range of four kilometers. The trials were held between July 7 and 18 in Pokhran. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has congratulated the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) for successfully completing the missile trials. The Defense Ministry in a statement said, "The robust imaging algorithm has made the missile hit the target at four-kilometer distance even in severe summer desert conditions which is unique in its class. All the missiles have met the mission objectives including minimum range, maximum range, in direct attack as well as top attack modes and achieved a direct hit onto the target". The successful completion of these trials will now pave the way for the introduction and production of the missile system into the Army.
