Indra Nooyi to become the next World Bank President?

An administrative official of the White House has reported that Indian-origin Indra Nooyi, the former CEO of PepsiCo, the global beverage company is being considered for the next World Bank President. However, Treasury Department official David Malpass and Overseas Private Investment Corp CEO Ray Washburne are also on the priority list. Nooyi, 63 had lead PesiCo for the last 12 years before stepping down as chief of the company last August in 2018. Jim Yong Kim, the current president of the World Bank had earlier informed that he would step down from his post in February 2019 since he wanted to lead a private investment firm. This decision comes unexpectedly from him and nearly three years before his term was supposed to end.
