Isro’s new initiative for ‘Dead rockets’

Can a dead rocket be any use in space? We hope not till now. But according to Isro, they suggest these ‘dead rockets’ can be useful from now on. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is currently working on a new and advanced technology. They will use the last stage of the PSLV rocket for space experiments. They will perform an experiment when PSLV C44 rocket will be launched in January.

Speaking with a renowned newspaper, Isro chairman K Sivan said, “Normally, the last stage of a PSLV rocket after releasing the primary satellite in space becomes dead and categorized as debris. It remains in the same orbit as that of the released satellite. Now, we are working on a new technology where we will give life to this ‘dead’ last stage of PSLV.” Well, this procedure will be an effective way to re-launch the left-out satellite structure.
