Jeff Bezos not the world’s richest man anymore

The founder and CEO of Amazon, Jeff Bezos is not the world's richest man anymore. He recently lost his title to Bill Gates after Amazon lost nearly $7 billion in stock value. Amazon’s shares fell 7 per cent in after-hours trading due to its lacklustre Q3 results and left Mr Bezos down to $103.9 billion. Currently Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates happens to be the world’s richest person with a total worth of $105.7 billion. Gates had debuted on Forbes' first ever billionaire list in 1987 and back then his net worth was $1.25 billion. He was the richest man of the world for 24 years till Mr Bezos topped the list in 2018 and became the first man on earth with a net worth of $160 billion. Mr Bezos had debuted in the Forbes 400 list of richest Americans in 1998 with a net worth of $1.6 billion, a year after Amazon was founded. Mr. Bezos founded Amazon on his garage in Seattle in 1994. He currently is the CEO of the company and owns nearly 12 percent of the company’s stakes. Bezos is also the owner of The Washington Post and Blue Origin
