Joyride to the Moon

Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin has taken the future of spacecraft to a whole another level with the launch of their new spacecraft Blue Moon lunar lander, with the aim of heading to the Moon. Founded in the year 2000, Blue Origin has been keeping their work out of the limelight for quite some time and later built an intriguing reputation with projects like New Shepard and New Glenn. Blue Origin invented New Shepard with the sole purpose of taking passengers for a trip of the solar system for a minimal charge for an estimated 10 minutes time which is known for its vertical take-off and landing. New Shepard is Blue Origin’s most visible program and has flown on 11 test flights, with its capsule, built to carry six passengers, reaching an altitude of more than 350,000. The capsule features massive windows, providing expansive views of the Earth once in space. New Shepard to begin on its purpose supposedly from next year, with ticket sales beginning soon. Bezos kept the work of Blue Moon in secret for over two years when they last mentioned Blue Moon in a program, where they stated that ‘Blue Moon’ would be used for sending a couple of tons of cargo to the surface of the Moon with the aim to build a lunar base. The first mission was assigned for 2020, along with government programs like the Boeing-built NASA Space Launch System (SLS) rocket; only indicating the development of Blue Moon by Blue Origin itself on May of last year and is expected to be ready by 2024 thinking of its early start of plan almost 3 years ago. Blue Origin has been making travel across space a bit more achievable as its Latin tagline of “step by step, ferociously,” while working on multiple space systems at the same time as humans get a bit closer to the galaxy surrounding our planet.
