Life filled with colours again

We have five sensory organs that are necessary for leading a regular life, and if one of them fails then life becomes difficult. That is what happened with Harish, a resident of Kabballi, Karnataka. 17-year-old Harish lost his eyesight due to Keratoconus. It is an eye condition in which clear tissue on the front of the eye (cornea) bulges outward.

Harish had to stop going to school as a result of it. He underwent cataract transplant and is able to see now. And he values the importance of his eyesight and has found an excellent way of expressing his creativity. He has learned to channel his creativity and imagination through his paintings. Recently at the 33rd National Eye Donation Fortnight, over 100 students from 12 schools in the participated in the event and Harish was among them. The event involved students who underwent eye donations and went on to win as well.
