Meet the Beluga Whale who is a Spy!

This month brought to the notice of the world an unforeseen yet stunning incident wherein a Beluga whale returned the phone dropped by a lady in Norway.

This heart-warming episode occurred at the Hammerfest harbour in Norway when Isa Opdahl was out in a boat with her friends. According to the reports, she accidentally dropped her phone in the water while out on the boat ride. The video of this astonishing episode shows how promptly the eager-to-please whale grabs the phone and brings it back to the surface!

We laid down on the dock to look at it and hopefully get the chance to pat it,” she told The Dodo. “I had forgotten to close my jacket pocket and my phone fell in the ocean. We assumed it would be gone forever, until the whale dove back down and came back a few moments later with my phone in its mouth!

Usually white Beluga whales are supposed to be shy around people, however, this one seemed to be an exception. This particular whale was first spotted by the Norwegian fishermen wearing a harness with the words ‘Equipment St Petersburg’ on it. The experts believe that the whale had been trained by the Russians for some specific military or navy purpose.

In a world where we are all living a mechanical life, bowing low and moving ahead because of constant fear and uncertainty, this shy mammal has made us see the world with a different perspective: A world where there is still hope, faith, and an ability and desire to help others!

As per some online reports, the Norwegian officials have decided to relocate this helpful mammal to a sanctuary in Iceland as a “thank you” note!
