Mumbai Based Boy Bags 1.2 Crore Job at Google

Mumbai based 21 years old boy Abdullah Khan has bagged the dream job of most IIT students at Google’s London office. According to reports, Khan did not succeed in cracking the IIT entrance exam but early this week he was offered a job by Google, a package of 1.2 crores, while the average payroll of a graduate of non-IIT engineering collage background from the city is approximately 4 Lakh per annum.

Abdullah Khan, who is a 3rd year BE (Computer Science) student at Shree LR Tiwari Engineering College at Mira Road, was called for an interview from Google, after seeing his profile on a website participating in programming challenges. He did his schooling in Saudi Arabia and moved to India after completing 12th standard. He has been asked to appear for final screening at Google’s London office early this month, after a few rounds of online interview. Google was already looking for people for locations across Europe when they came across the profile of Khan on a site that hosts programming challenges.

According to reports, Abdullah used to participate in such competitions just for fun, without having any idea that firms such as Google might look into such sites, which came to him as quite a surprise as he wasn’t expecting such an offer from Google. He is expecting to join Google’s site reliability engineering team in September and looks forward to learning from this experience in the future.
