Nepal’s fashion show creates a world record

New records are set and broken every day, and now Nepal has also set a new Guinness World Record. They held the record for holding the highest altitude fashion show event. It was one of a kind as it was the highest altitude fashion show event ever held on land. With support from the Nepal Tourism Board, the event was held at 1, 7515 feet (5,340 metres) elevation. The Mount Everest Fashion Runway was held near the Everest base camp at Kala Patthar on January 26th. Nepal Tourism Board on Wednesday released a press release that read,

The designs, patterns and the materials used during the Fashion show were all-natural, organic and all Nepali product line from KASA. The clothing line was made of Nepali Pashmina, Felt and Yak Wool, ideal for winter wear,”

The fashion show was a part of the Visit Nepal Year 2020 campaign arranged by the Nepal Tourism Board. Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Kedar Bahadur Adhikari and the senior director of Nepal Tourism Board, Nandini Lahe Thapa were among the eminent personalities who attended the fashion show, while Aashmi Rana, Nandini Lahe Thapa, and Lt. Col Pratap Bohara were witnesses for the official adjudicator of Guinness World Records. Models from across the globe participated in the show which included Finland, Singapore, Italy, and Sri Lanka. According to the press release the fashion show was organized to raise awareness about climate change and also to promote sustainable fashion.
