New lighting system installed in Parliament

A new lighting system has been recently installed on the façade of the Parliament ahead of the 73rd Independence Day celebrations. The Parliament was lit up with a zestful range of themes following the installment of the new lighting system which was inaugurated by the Prime Minister. Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla inaugurated the new lighting system in the presence of union ministers and members of parliament in the lawn of the Parliament premises. After the inauguration program, PM Modi tweeted, "India's Parliament is all lit up, thanks to the lighting facility inaugurated today". Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla too took to twitter saying, "Parliament House, the largest temple of the world's largest democracy, will be illuminated with new lights from now on. Through facade lights, a special message will go to the whole world that from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and from Arunachal to Rann of Kutch, the colour of this country is tricolour". The lighting system is composed of a total of 875 LED lights which are fitted in all of the 144 pillars of the parliament house which measures 27 feet each. The lights will keep changing colour every few seconds, making it more attractive and appealing. The lighting system is the same as the one installed at Raisina Hills, where it was installed two years back. These lights will be kept on from 7 pm to 5 am every day with the colours changing every few seconds.
