Nita Ambani to be the first Indian trustee of The Met

Nita Ambani, the chairperson of the Reliance Foundation was elected as the trustee of the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art. She has been added to the board of director of The Met, due to her extraordinary contribution towards showcasing the Indian culture and tradition in front of the whole world through the most famous museum in New York.

The decision to make Nita Ambani a trustee of the museum was taken cumulatively when on Tuesday, 12th November, a meeting was held by the board of directors headed by Daniel Brodsky, the chairperson of the museum. It was also noted by the members of board that Nita Ambani is the first ever Indian to receive this position. She is the first Trustee in the board of directors of The Met to represent India and its heritage.

Nita Ambani has always been a huge source of support for The Met. She has brilliantly helped in preserving the Indian art and culture through various exhibitions supported by the Reliance group. Her philanthropist views on culture and education continues to inspire us. Our relation has always been amiable and it is a huge gift to have her with us.” Says Brodsky.

The members of the board of directors have chosen Nita Ambani in order to uplift their way of showcasing the Indian art, culture and heritage. She can now show new ways of conducting exhibitions which would attract the crowd towards Indian art.
