On a Record-Breaking Spree

Mount Everest on the Himalayan range is the highest of mountain peaks on 8,848 meters above the sea-level, running across Nepal and China international border, which is the summit point for climbers across the entire world. Being the highest peak it attracted much attention, with climbers attempting to reach the peak as early in 1924. The first successful summit was achieved by Edmund Hillary a mountaineer from New Zealand and accompanying him Tenzing Norgay a Nepali-Indian Sherpa Mountaineer. Since then, the hype of climbing the peak has been at an all-time high.

Over the years many attempted and reached their desired destination, and some had to return empty-handed, and some never made it back. Kami Rita Sherpa, Apa Sherpa, Ngima Nuru Sherpa, Phurba Tashi Sherpa, Dave Hahn and many more have been successful. Residing in Thame Village of Nepal, Kami Rita Sherpa crossed the record of the highest number of summits on Mount Everest by any single climber which was held by Apa Sherpa with a record of 21 times, which was surpassed by Kami Rita Sherpa earlier this month, when he climbed the peak for the 23rd time. However, his thirst to break his very own record resulted in the success of his 24th expedition on 21st May. His first successful expedition was in the year 1994, when he was 24 years old, which sums up his commendable 24 summits achievement in 25 years of time. This year the climbing season began on 14th May with nearly 1000 climbers attempting for the highest peak of the World.
