Rahman to be seen in a new role

After having a successful career as a music director, composer and singer AR Rahman is set to adopt a new role. He will now be seen as a producer and writer. The maestro announced the news himself on his social media handle. The film is titled as ’99 Songs’. Rahman will be the producer and writer of the film 99 Songs.

The Oscar-winning music composer shared a note saying that the film will be “a young, passionate love story with music as its soul.” His production house YM Movies will collaborate with Jio Studios for this project. Rahman further announced that 99 Songs will be a trilingual film that will release worldwide in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on June 21st, 2019. Here is the post that Rahman shared:

On the work front recently, Rahman released the Indian anthem of the much-awaited movie ‘Avengers: Endgame’. Rahman says that he was scared of how the directors of the film will react to his song. He said,

I was very scared because he is from Hollywood and I didn’t know whether he will understand the lyrics or not. But when he saw the song, he said ‘you have given us a hit!’ and hugged me. The other day, he saw it again and said, ‘I got gooseflesh.’ He also said that we need to dub the anthem in Chinese and Korean language.”

The audience and the critics have loved AR Rahman the composer and we hope that he receives the same amount of love as a producer and writer.
