Rajasthan Tops the Chart

Last week on Wednesday police officials ranked Kalu of Rajasthan’s Bikaner district at the top position. There was a total of 15, 666 police stations, among which Kalu was selected. A list was released by the Home Ministry on Tuesday. The police station earned that position owing to the facilities provided by it that are drinking water, wi-fi servers, a woman helps desk and recreational activities for police personnel. Andaman and Nicobar Island’s Campbell Bay police station and Farakka police station of Murshidabad stood second and third respectively. The police stations have been selected on the basis of the data put up by them regarding crime and criminal tracking network system. The evaluation was done based on this data and on the crimes against women, SC/STs along with property offenses. The scores were calculated depending on the number of FIRs lodged within a span of 60 days. In 2015 at the DGP conference in Kutch, Gujrat, the Prime Minister ordered the home ministry to start ranking the police stations.
