Rajasthan Witness Highest Pace Of NH Construction

The state of Maharashtra is expected to undergo a lot of highway construction in the next couple of years.

The highest pace of national highway (NH) construction was reported by Rajasthan among all the states during the first four years of the Narendra Modi government while the Centre’s expenditure was the highest in Uttar Pradesh for building the highways. As per the government data, Maharashtra was ranked second both in the highway construction and expenditure between 2014-15 and 2017-18.

According to the data compiled by the road transport and highways ministry, the pace of the NH construction increased over 10 fold in Maharashtra from 124 Km in 2014-15 to 1,346 Km during the last financial year, and the margin is six times in the states of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. During the same period, the expenditure in Uttar Pradesh for highway construction, jumped from Rs 2240 to approximately Rs 14,800 crore. The state of Maharashtra is expected to undergo a lot of highway construction in the next couple of years.
