Rajnath Singh meets Sri Lankan PM

Union Minister Rajnath Singh met Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe on Saturday, October 20 and discussed bilateral issues with him. Wickremesinghe was on a three-day visit to India when this meeting took place. This is his fifth official visit to India since he took office back in 2015. The two discussed issues related to security and anti-terror cooperation between the two nations during the 30 minute intense meeting. Both the leaders decided to strengthen India-Sri Lanka relations further for mutual benefit of both the nations. Wickremesinghe visited India with aim to make ties with India in fields of trade, investment and maritime security. Rajnath Singh tweeted after the meeting, “Had a fruitful meeting with the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Mr Ranil Wickremesinghe in New Delhi today. We had deliberations on further strengthening cooperation between India and Sri Lanka on issues pertaining to security and terrorism in the region”.
