‘Smart Cane’ For The Visually Impaired

We all have our specific problems and disabilities, which might not always have to be physical, but looking past it and moving forwards is what life is all about. Even the same goes for physically disabled peoples, who can be considered as inspiration for several others. Similarly, to cooperate and not let any disabilities hold you back, a ‘Smart Cane’ have been introduced to help visually impaired people.

There have many modern techs which have helped individual lives in accordance with our needs and choices. Visually impaired engineer Kursat Ceylan, who is the CEO and co-founder of Young Guru Academy (YGA), the Turkish non-profit behind WeWALK invented a ‘Smart cane’, realizing from his own experiences and challenges, and putting them in for work.

The device is a walking stick which helps in navigating one’s surrounding with efficiency. Apart from that, it is also equipped with built-in speakers, a voice assistant, Google, and sensors which sends vibrations out to the holder to avoid bumps above chest levels using smart devices.

Cylen had his time wondering through his visually impairment, where challenges like navigating a place and preventing from colliding with objects have been a severe problem of everyday life. He felt the need to change the way we look at these hurdles and offered a smart an apt solution which is now available in the WeWALK website and costs around $500.
