Tendulkar Sues Spartan Over Image Rights Conflict

Sachin Tendulkar has been phenomenal is his cricketing career earning respect worldwide for his contribution to the Indian Cricket team and to the world of Cricket. His legacy is recognised widely and helps younger dreamers to dream and come forward. After retiring from international cricket in 2013 he remained an icon for the Mumbai Indians team.

He recently made headline after using the Australian bat manufacturing company Spartan Sports over an image right conflict. According to reports, Tendulkar had a contract with Spartan Sports International from 2016 onwards, and in that contract, Sachin had agreed to promotional tours and letting them use his image in return of a million dollar a year.

However, even after appearing for promotional events in London and Mumbai the company haven’t paid the money despite a request being put in. When no response was given by the company Tendulkar’s lawyers took the matters in their own hands and cancelled the agreements, but the company kept using his image for promotional purposes and also kept selling the Sachin-branded merchandises. On the grounds of unfulfilled promises and breaches of contract on behalf of Spartan, Sachin’s lawyers filed a lawsuit against the Australian bat manufacturing company on June 5 and the court appearance has been scheduled on 26th June.
