The number one test batsman has always worshipped cricket. Recently he talked about the traditional forms of cricket. He still believes that five day cricket can never be replaced. New formats and methods have been introduced and the sport has topped in all the departments but the traditional format can never be substituted. He said, "When you start playing cricket you understand the importance of Test Cricket and what makes it so special." He added, ''When you get runs from the bat in test cricket you will know that it is the most beautiful thing that has happened in cricket."
